Hi, is it possible to avoid in Runner 3 recording the steps I take at home? Thank you.

No, as this would defeat the purpose of having an activity tracker. It is meant to capture your daily 24/7 activity, looking at steps, HR and other factors. If you only measure steps outside of the house you would be getting an incomplete picture of your daily activity. If you want this you can simply shut the tracker off whenever you come home and turn it back on when you leave, but you will lose all the other measurements along with steps. Press down from the clock and select Tracker>Goals>Off to turn it off and then Trackers>Goals>Steps (or whatever you want your goal to be) and set a goal to turn it back on.

I hope this helped answer your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so others can look for it if they have the same question.
