TomTom Runner 3 won't pair with iPhone 7

I purchased a TomTom runner 3 yesterday and updated it with the new software 1.7.53, the watch will not pair with an iphone 7 that has ios 11. I have deleted the app from the phone and installed it again, reset the watch to the factory settings and started over, restarted the phone, nothing works. pretty disappointed and frustrated with this, any help would be much appreciated. How do I fix this?

This seems to be a known issue for some users with the new update. They are reportedly working on a fix, but no timeline has been communicated. In the meanwhile you always have the option of syncing via computer. You can also go to this post and ask the moderator to roll your firmware back to an earlier version that will work. You will lose the new features but will be able to sync.

the same with Android phones, you're not alone, I guess...
try the (temporary) fix I suggested bellow in my own thread, maybe it will work for iPhones as well.
