Active magnetic windscreen mount- Can you mount it on the dashboard?
Will the active magnetic mount fit straight onto the dash, my dash is not smooth it has the very small dimple effect, or would I have to get a mat or similar to sit it on
Thanks, Mike

I'll be buying the Go 520 soon, it comes with the magnetic mount, do you know if the sticky disks are part of the kit or do I have ro purchase them separately
Thanks Mike

The Sticky Disks are not mentioned in the "In the box" List.....

So I guess they are extra
Does the Active Magnetic mount adhere to glass, ie, the windshield.? It's magnetic, glass isn't..?? - I can see the need for a magnetic disc for the dash as most dashboards are not magnetic, being made mostly of plastic or non magnetic materials.. but how does the mount work on glass..??
About to pull the plug and buy the GO620..
Thanks
Thomas

@jatco
The magnet is for the Retaining & Quick release of the PND Device

The Suction Cup holds the Mount + Device to the Screen or Dashboard
EOL unit over new 620
Im not excited about the mount.. It sits higher then my EOL 730, tho only an inch larger, the mount on the dash obstructs my vision at the right.. - Gotta work on that..and or some other location..which could be tricky.
Anyone else have an issue with where they mount the Mount.??
So far...it's do-able. Gotta get used to it, I guess,...

Tap the left-hand side of the Top Info Bar to toggle between List and Map view
For some reason Tomtom have decided to Auto Clear your Route when you arrive at your destination and switch the Map to a zoomed out North-up overview Map
You can turn off the automatic switching to the North-up overview map in the setting menu
With "Automatic Map Switching" turned off when you arrive at your destination and the device will continue using your chosen navigation screen to show your present location... Note... You may need to tap the Plus Icon button a couple of times to zoom in for the map detail
From the main screen
Tap the 4Dot (.... Menu) Icon (Screen Bottom left)
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to the Cogwheel Icon
Tap Cogwheel Icon
Tap Appearance
Turn off Automatic Map view switching
Tap Blue arrow head Icon ( > ) top right on screen to exit
But unfortunately this has an effect to both ends of the journey.....
If you have turned off Automatic Map view switching
Now whenever you have planned a route, you will have to tap the "Lets Go" banner or the "Direction of travel Icon" the arrowhead above the plus and minus buttons
To switch to your chosen navigating screen
The Map does not auto switch at either the start or the end of your journey

There are also three options for the Zoom function.....
(1)..... Zoom into next turn
(2)..... Based on road type (My preferred option)
(3)..... None
From the main screen
Tap the 4Dot (.... Menu) Icon (Screen Bottom left)
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to the Cogwheel Icon
Tap Cogwheel Icon
Tap Appearance
Tap Automatic zoom
choose the required option
Tap Blue arrow head Icon ( > ) top right on screen to exit

Since the power cord can plug directly into the back of the device, I may look around for another type of mount so the unit doesn't sit so 'tall' on the dash of my work van. Maybe it'll be different in one of our 2 cars. I haven't tried that yet, though when in our cars I usually attached it to the windshield..but that doesn't work in the van.
Thx again.
I have the tablet mounted on a CD mount and I'll re-engineer the 620 to use this mount. Will be easy to do and I'll post some pics
