There was a problem registering the device RUNNER cardio

I recently purchased a runner cardio from a friend of mine. I created a profile on the Tom Tom site, but when I sign in and try and register the device, it returns a message: "There was a problem registering the device". I cannot find any help in the help topics. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Are you using the correct application? TomTom Sports Connect is the one to use. Once installed, go to Settings and press Reset. Sports Connect will guide you through the steps.
