Navigation to destinations in Barcelona

EusebiuEusebiu Posts: 14 [Legendary Explorer]
I use a Samsung s7 edge. I upgraded, but doesn't let me choose Targu Mures, România as destination from Barcelona. It sees it in the list when typing but doesn't recognise when I want to choose it and start driving! Annoying! Only if choosing by pointing on the map.

    Hi Eusebiu,

    Welcome to the Community!

Could you first update your app to the v1.17 we've just released and try if that make any difference? Could you also state the map your using as well as the Android™ version on your phone, please?

    Cheers, Mikko

    Hi,
It is the last app version installed from Google play. I use android 7.0.
The map is full Europe downloaded from within the app modules.
By the way, just used it two days ago when left from Barcelona. It has issues on two junctions in Barcelona where I got lost because of it, and a long distance motorway before Marseille missing from the map. It saw me as being away in the field.
Too many issues. I need my money back!

    Hi Eusebiu,

    Thanks for the info!

If you run to this issue again, please post a screenshot here.

There'll be a new map available shortly. I'd recommend you to check again once it's out. If you still see issues with the map data, you can report them directly to our map team with the MapShare Reporter or post the details to the Map Quality board where our Maps Specialist can take a look at them.

    Cheers, Mikko

How do you think I can do this while driving on motorways? You want me to stop on road to do screenshot?
And secondly I am not using that route again. I am going now back to London. How should I know what issues I might encounter on this trip.?

Taking a screenshot should be simply on your S7 Edge, just put your the back of your hand on the screen wiping from left to right... vola.

    Thanks for Samsung technical guidance!
Just simply not satisfied with this app and rather refund my purchase. There are much better apps that I think worth being paid for. No need further advises! Thanks.

    Hi Eusebiu,

If you encounter map issues while driving you could mark the location [user manual] for reporting later.

Long trips might be handier to plan with MyDrive and sync to your app [user manual]. On GO Mobile you can also preview your route from the Current route menu.

    Cheers, Mikko

As I just asked from the beginning, please refund my purchase ! NOT TO MENTION THAT I USED EVEN YOUR TOMTOM SPEED CAMERAS, and I got a flash camera in a well known traffic route, Vienna ! I had to report 3 fixed cameras on my route back to London, and arriving in Austria I just quit !
How should I trust your app again and continue to use it !
    REFUND !!!!!!!

    @ Eusebiu,

Try going the speed limit and you will not get flashed....

It is not the apps fault you drive over the speed limit.

Plus: It is illegal to use monitoring devices for safety (speed) cameras in Austria.

But you should know that by now.

    For your info:

    Speed Limits in Austria:
50 kilometres per hour in built up areas
100 kilometres per hour on the open road
130 kilometres per hour on motorways.

Speed limits are enforced by unmarked police cars and radar traps as well as cameras. If you get a ticket it will be sent to your rental agency or you may receive an on the spot fine.

    ARE YOU C...Y !
why than are you creating an app to warn you about speed cameras ! To use for WHAAAATTTT ! to fill up the phone storage ?
First of all I am driving in a very responsible way ! I got flashed due to steep downhill section of road where I gained unexpected speed due to weight of load !
Don't do driving lessons with me ! Take you responsibility in a proper manner and respect your customer ! We are not supposed to get lessons of driving from you, just to use what we are purchasing from you ! Your subject of chat should be strict to your app if client is or not satisfied. PERIOD !
    REFUND !!!!

and how comes that your colleague asked me to take screenshots while driving ? Is it legal to use devices while driving ?
Would you take this lesson as well ?

    No it's not.

The use of radar detecting devices is prohibited, like everywhere else in Europe.
The use of gps/phones with speed camera warnings is perfectly legal in Austria.

Maybe for some post-Brexit version of Europe. There is no such restriction in the UK.

I couldn't find anywhere that menu to access the customer service. Actually it's the most hidden access point as everywhere !
Give me please a link or guide me !

    Hi all,

There are indeed different laws and regulations regarding speed camera warnings in different countries. Our Speed Cameras team is well on top of the local rules and you can read more about them in the FAQ below.

TomTom Speed Camera service and the law

    Germany
Drivers who use a radar detector in Germany can be given a fine for doing so, and in 2015 there was a case in Lower Saxony where a driver was fined for using a dedicated Speed Camera app. However, it is not clear to what extent this will be applied in other regions of Germany or if the police intend to enforce further prosecutions and fines.
There is another judgment from 2017 (OLG Rostock) on the use of speed camera apps.

    @Eusebiu,

Well lets get one thing straight.

I do not work for or have ever worked for TomTom.

All I did was quote the law in Austria.

I have used TomTom Go on and off a couple of times, but could care less about speed camera warnings.
On my professional GPS units speed cameras are not even installed.
I go the speed limit even driving downhill.
Been driving all over Europe and the USA for sometime now.
That brings it to about 50 years of driving.
In all the years of driving I only received 2 speeding tickets
Both in a 50km zone going 54km in Germany and one in Holland going 54km.
Both times they were mobile speed cameras that were hidden.
Long before I even had a GPS unit.

Could not ask for a refund it was my mistake not the car's.

    I just paid the fine.

    So have a nice day.......

I didn't ask a refund for speed cameras app, but for TomTom Go, which had lots of mistakes, missing more than 6 miles (I think ) of a route towards Marseilles (France), a big roundabout in Barcelona missing ( it saw me being away in the field ), couldn't set up a destination towards Romania because some of an app bug or error, so i considered it very unreliable for so many issues in one single day !!!! AND IT WAS THE PID VERSION !
I brought the speed cameras app in this conversation to prove how week are the TomTom in providing a reliable app that worth paying for !
Otherwise why using a speed cameras app if not to keep the driver in a mind peace that he is ok during driving ! WHY SHOULD I CREATE AN APP THAT ACTUALLY IS USELESS !

I understand how a very "superior" driver might find advice to drive in compliance with the road traffic speed laws as being childish.
