Syncing MapmyRun with TomTom

Hi

Apologies if this has already been posted, I have searched but could not find the exact answer.

I have had my Spark3 for a while and used it every now and then. For the past 4 years I have used mapmyrun so there is a lot of a data held on there.

I am now in the position where i have some workouts in TomTomSports and some in mapmyrun.

Going forward ideally I would just like to use TomTomSports and disregard Mapmyrun.

Is there a quick and easy way to import my historic workouts in to TT from MMR?

If that isn't possible, is there a way to move my workouts from TT on to MMR, and then have TT sync with MMR going forward so I can just both?

Thanks

Tom

Unfortunately, there is no way to upload activities not created by the watch to MySports and no way to manually add an activity, so importing from MMR to TT is not an option. You can go the other way very easily (and most people do upload to MySports as well as other sites like Strava or MMR). To set up any upload or export you need to go to the Apps & Exporting tab in MySports, where you can select the service to upload to or the file type to export. Enter your credentials for any site selected and it will upload whenever you sync (by app or PC) go forward. For file exports it will save the files in a dated folder under TomTom MySports on your machine along with the ttbin. To get exported files you need to use the PC sync, the app sync will not export files, it will only upload. Note that for non-GPS activities you will not get KML or GPX files as these formats require GPS points. Please also note this only sets up the upload for future activities, it will not go back and reupload old ones. In addition, it will only upload sports activities, not daily activity tracking like steps.

To get old activities from TT to MMR you will need to force it to reupload. To force MySports to reupload an activity you need to do the following:

    1. Exit MySports Connect on your computer (you must use a computer to reupload – right click on the tray icon and select Exit).
    2. Locate the ttbin files:

    PC Syncing: The ttbins are saved in a dated folder for the date of the activity under C:\Users\{User Name}\TomTom MySports\{Watch Name}

Apple Devices: Locate the ttbin files in iTunes:
    a. Connect your iOS device to your computer and wait for iTunes to open.
    b. Select your iOS device in the iTunes sidebar.
    c. Select the Apps tab and scroll down to File Sharing.
    d. Select MySports.
    e. The ttbin files are listed on the right hand side.
    f. Right-click (Mac: ctrl-click) a file to copy it and save it to your computer

Android Devices: In Android, the ttbin files are stored on the internal SD in (/sdcard/TomTom_MySports/[serial number of watch]/workouts/uploaded/). Copy them to your computer

    3. Place the ttbin files in C:\Users\[user name]\TomTom MySports\[serial number]
    4. Restart MySports Connect and connect your watch
    5. Go the Settings page (click the gear icon on the top right) and press the 'Try again' button to re-upload the files.

You can also always just export a fit file from MySports and then manually import it into the site of your choice. Most allow for manual importing.

I hope this helped answer your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so others can look for it if they have the same question.
