My Heart Rate on Multisport

Hi - I've checked my resting heart beat over 3 mornings and on average I get 60 bpm (I'm 69 years, male) On my last 2 runs of 2 kilometers each, my average bpm on TomTom Sports shows as 45 bpm, falling as low as 37 bpb at some points, in fact at around that number for most of the run. I'm using a TomTom Sports Watch and TomTom heart rate monitor. When I started out this morning my bpm was 77 but within a minute it dropped to 39. Seems to me that something is wrong, either the technology or me. Any thoughts appreciated. I make sure the HRM pads are wet before I start.

    It sounds like the battery is failing on the heart rate strap. i would put in fresh batteries and see if that helps. Since the watch is simply reading whatever data the strap is transmitting it is not likely to be an issue of the watch side. If that does not fix it, I would suggest calling Customer Support to see what they can do. They are able to more deeply investigate and diagnose problems than we can here on the user forum. To get the number for Customer Support, go to tomtom.com/support, choose Contact at the bottom, select the service required and the product name and click Contact Customer Care and then Phone Us. It will give you the phone number for the country your account is registered under (this can be changed by clicking the flag icon in the bottom right corner of the screen).
