Golfer 2 Bluetooth not working with app

I have tried to connect the Golfer 2 to the app and currently get;

Straight after the connection is made

OOPS, WE GOT DISCONNECTED
This app supports Tom Tom Golfer Watches Only

or

SOMETHING'S GONE WRONG
This is embarrassing but we have lost the device again.

Any one managed to get around this and actually use the app?
