Voice Instructions not working
I suddenly had a problem with the voice instruction only working intermittently, so, having checked everything in the app settings and iphone settings, to no avail, I downloaded the GO app.
Here, again the problem is exactly the same.
I can see on the screen, that the voice instructions are on, my volume on the iphone is up to maximum, percent voice to music (which I don't play) is at maximum.
In settings clicking on the voice 'Jane', makes her talk.
Everything was working, on a journey this morning, for the first time, then later, when I came to use the app, there were no voice instructions, despite no changes made since this morning's success.
So, what am I doing wrong, having used this app successfully fo so many years, what has changed ?

Just recently downloaded the latest Version 1.8 & using the Europe (985.8149) Map. Everything seems to be working fine, apart from the fact that I like the OP have no sound, when the App is running & My iPhone 7 Plus is Connected to My Car via Bluetooth. Car is a Range Rover EVOQUE MY14.
I like the OP have Voice Instructions ON, Volume on iPhone set to MAX, & % Voice to Music @ MAX as Well.
Has it Got something to do with the Way it uses Bluetooth to Connect to the EVOQUE?
The Only thing that I haven't got Selected in the Settings is "Run in Backround", Will that make a Difference....?
Any Help & Advice would be appreciated.....Sorry to "highjack" the Thread, But it looks like the same issue that me & the OP have...

This is a known issue to which we, unfortunately, don't currently have a solution. I'd recommend you to double check that you have voice instructions enabled and try turning off Bluetooth® on your phone.
Please, report this to Customer Service. They can gather the relevant details to help our technicians to investigate the issue further.

This Morning I turned off the Bluetooth on the iPhone 7 Plus & tried the App with some of the "free" Miles that come with the App & the Voices Worked....
To be Honest, I can't believe that a Company the size of TomTom have No Solution to using their App & Not being able to Connect to the Rest of the Car Via Bluetooth, especially now that you face a Couple of Hundred £'s in Fines & Points on Your licence if caught using your phone in the UK, without a Hands-Free Kit.......
I have an "Old" iPhone 5s, which has a Cracked Screen, So May need to "bring" that into Service, as a standalone Map & Camera Unit.....
I will also as suggested Contact Customer Support to see what they say....I'm willing to be a "Guinea-Pig" with the App & Bluetooth, if it helps.....
These are lots of threads on this and sadly no action, amazingly Google has manage to solve this problem as Google Maps works perfectly using Bluetooth with car systems and if Google ever add speed limits and speed cameras then TomTom will be out of business.

1. Uninstall the Go app.
2. Reboot my iPhone by holding the home and and top button at the same time.
3. Reinstall the GO app from the App store.
I hope that future updates to GO do not require the above sequence of steps to restore the voice function
