Runner 3 showing different data than the app

I have a runner 3 watch and I'm using the sports app on an Lg G3 smartphone.
I've been overseas during the last 3 weeks and I was have some trouble syncing the watch to the app, but every once is a while it did work.
The watch and the app show different information in regards to the number of steps taken, when I say different data I mean it can be 50% more on the watch than in the app right after I sync them.
Today that was the case when I connected the watch to the computer directly.
Both the watch and the app are up to date.
Any idea on why and how to fix that?

    I would advise you to try to uninstall and re-install the Sports mobile app from Play Store to see if that makes a difference.
