Navigation is slow in TomTom GO Mobile for iPhone
Hi,
I have TomTom Go Mobile and the legacy TomTom app installed on my iPhone 7. My experience with Go Mobile is that the navigation is about 1 or 2 seconds behind. For instance, when I turn right with my car, the app is showing this turn at least 1 second later. I do not have this experience with the legacy app.
Does anyone else have this experience. Is there a solution for this issue?
Thanks,
Danny

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your feedback!
Do you mean the GO Mobile is a second or two slower than the old app or that it's late with the instructions? The apps are based on different software so there might indeed be some differences in the performance. You could check if changing the power saving settings [user manual] helps.
Please, post back here if you have any further questions
Cheers, Mikko
Thanks for your reply. I mean that the screen is a second slower related to reality. The instructions are fine!
So when I trun right in reality I see this turn on the screen about 1 second later. This was way faster in the legacy app!
Power savings are set to None!

Danny
Thanks for coming back!
There might be various factors affecting the performance of the app. I'd recommend you to try different power saving settings and also check if you have other apps running that might be causing your phone performance to slow down.

Rather than buying time by asking us to check settings though, I would have thought the developers should be trying to fix this asap?! I get that this issue is affecting some people and not others, and thus is hard to work out what the problem is, but that is presumably what developers are for. We are not meant to be beta testers, we are paying customers!!

I just checked all power saving settings, but changing these did not affect the performance of the app. No other apps are running on my iPhone when I am using TomTom.
Any other ideas?
Thx,
Danny
Thanks for your feedback!
Please note, that this is a user forum geared towards providing users a platform for helping other users. While the forum Staff, such as myself, participate in helping users here when we can, official TomTom support is provided by Customer Service.
The forum Staff does read everything here on the forum and log feedback to be reported to the relevant product teams and elsewhere in the business. However, Customer Service is in many - especially technical - cases more effective with this as they're able to gather the relevant details to help our technicians and product specialists look into the feedback.
@ Danny: Thanks for coming back! Unfortunately, I don't have other suggestions. I've logged your feedback to be reported to the product team. I'd recommend you to contact Customer Service for further assistance.
Cheers, Mikko
I'm curious - did you ever get a satisfactory reply to the lagging issue??
Unfortunately, this is currently a previously identified problem with no solution yet. What you can try is to install a different voice. When this problem for example occurs with a a recorded voice, change it to a computer voice. This may solve the problem.
When this does not solve the problem, unfortunately I have no answer for you. Thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.
I noticed that Sygic has the same issue!
Why is TomTom ignoring this problem ?
