Renault Scenic Carminat now not wotking after trying to update the SD Card.

Owned my car for 3yrs and thought it was about time that I logged on to Tom Tom to see if there are any updates available.
Inserted the SD Card into my laptop after downloading the software.
Completed the backup as recommended from the SD to my laptop.
Downloaded all recommended updates.
Now I have put the card back in my car and the Sat Nav does not recognise the card?
Tried using the backup that I did on the laptop but still no joy, it keeps showing a red cross or hand to take out sd card?
shpuld of listened to the wife who said just leave it be :-(
Any help gratefully appreciated as I am now in the dog house.

Mines going in to Renault tomorrow,
That's what I get for trying to update. Was working fine before I started.
Hopefully covered under the warranty still, fingers crossed.

Try to format the card to FAT32, put it back to the car, let the device to write some files on it. Then back to the PC and update it, then back to the car.

I Fixed it
Did everything the forum has stated and the TomTomhome helpline.
Tried it in another Renault and it loaded up to a point where it said Maps not valid? Didn't do anything in my car!
Put it back in my car to see if it would get to that point.
It did and started working after about 15mins of a loading bar across the bottom of the screen.
The maps work fine although the voice went strange until I started the engine up again.
Happy days.
Dealer cancelled now for tomorrow.
