TomTom Go 520 not updating-"Oops something went wrong, please try again error"


I have just purchased a TomTom Go 520 and I am currently unable to update it, each time I try I get a "Oops something went wrong, please try again error"

I have tried turning it on and off again including a hard reset.
I have also tried connecting it directly to the WiFi but also via MyDrive Connect.

The only thing else of note that I have been able to discover is that when I got into MyDrive on the TomTom itself, it is telling me that "We are having trouble accessing TomTom services. Please try again later"

Is it possible that there is an outage of some server that is causing my issue? Is there any status/health check page?

I am in Australia if that is of any assistance.

    Also I just found out I cannot download any maps either.

    Sorry to hear about the updating problems on your GO 520 device. I would want to know if you get the same error message when using a different wifi ® connection.

    If you are getting the same error message on a different wifi® as well then please report this to the customer service for further investigation.

    Thanks VikramK - Changing the WiFi connection just solved this for me.
