Map updates for my Mazda NB1

I purchased 4 map updates over a 1 year period for my Mazda NB1. How do I know when the updates are available? Do I get an email? or is it every quarter? I do not want to update my maps without good reason.

For standalone gps units, the maps normally are in Feb, May, August and November of each year. You can check with support when open for your device, though:
