Software, hardware... Who cares? They didn’t gave any solution all those years... The only thing that saved it is that I don’t really care about features like this... But some times they can be useful.

Yes, since the Rider 400 era (5-6 years ago), still unsolved... There are other problems as well, it seems that most owners gave up...

1. Pick your smartphone from the pocket 2. Open the camera app 3. Focus & take the shot... You may mark a location if that’s what you want... http://download.tomtom.com/open/manuals/Rider_Wi-Fi/html/en-gb/index.htm#AddingalocationtoMyPlacesbymarking.htm

Almost 6 years later nothing has changed... Instead it’s getting worse. TT is hopeless. I’ve gave up...

Things may get better in the far future because of the autonomous cars that will lead to maps and navigational software of greater precision and more up to date... Until then, IMHO, the only way to ride as / where you want is to pre-plan your routes, double-check everything, design them as needed with MyDrive or other apps…

The transition to 64 bit has been started 3 years ago with macOS High Sierra. There’s no excuse...
-
You’re almost right. It doesn’t handle years but weeks. For that it uses a 10-bit number to represent them so it can store weeks from 0 to 1023 (1024 values), that is about 19,6 years from the defined epoch (was was Sunday January 6, 1980 at 00:00:00 UTC, now it’s April 6, 2019...). It can still affect the operations of…

You can use locknuts with a thread locker to make it really difficult to remove them. But the can still remove the whole bar... Be sensible it’s a nice measure when you’re leaving the motorcycle for some moments without attention, let’s say when you’re going to pay for gas... Not for hours.

This is a problem of the capacitive screen technology. If it’s possible protect it from the weather as possible or place it as vertical as possible so the rain drops cannot accumulate...

Time is not only necessary to display it on the screen and calculate ETA but it's part of the GPS calculations that give the location. Without the EXACT time a GPS can't do anything. It seems that there is a 3rd party solution. Dig a little in the forum and you will find it.

No, just don't connect it to the internet. Disable tethering on your smartphone.
-
I'm not sure. A Bluetooth connection without the tethering part should be enough for what you want. So don't enable the tethering. Just make sure that the Bluetooth pairing is ok.

I never used that one for route planning. I preferred alternatives like Tyre (you must have a license for that). You may try it or other solutions like MyRoute-App, etc. Anything that may produce an ITN file...

So something is wrong with their PR. There’s nothing worst than no replying...

It may not TT’s fault. Email doesn’t guarantee delivery. A spam filter may have dropped your emails in a junk folder or quarantine... Try other ways to communicate.

No...

Am I supporting them by saying in this forum that we cannot trust completely satnavs or that I don’t see that they will never fix none of the known bugs or missing features (BT hoarse voice, waypoint labels, etc)? I’m trying to be a realist... We can’t completely rely on them. Period. Similar problems we have with the much…

Rider 550 is compatible with TomTom MyDrive Connect, not TomTom HOME. What you are seeing is expected., nothing strange... 1. Maps from different vendors may have differences and the routing calculations may also vary. The best is to design your route on the same map (vendor & version) as the device’s... 2. A route doesn’t contain any instructor how you’ll get to your destination /…

Because they’re different... Check your routing settings, add more waypoints on the route...
