Cannot Update Speed Camera France

I am offered updates to update Premium Speed Camera France and Speed Camera France. As I will be travelling through France next month and I had heard of the camera issue in France, I thought I should carry out this update. But I have tried to update for the past few day and each time I get Internet Service had an Internal Error. Please try again later. After almost a week I am still getting the same error, although when I unselect these two choices I am able to successfully download other updates.

I thought it might be because I have a 730 GO, which is an older model. I have version 9.430

Any help will be appreciated.

Try to call the customer services. As long as your device won't show the camera locations, you are fine. And if it shows the Danger Zones, you are fine again. If you have the log from the error message, you could copy-paste it here.

I remember seeing this HTTP 500 errors, but usually with old maps. Don't want to blame it on the map though in your case, can be anything else.

@thailand: They have much more calls than usual as not everybody follows the forum or actually some didn't receive or notice the e-mail about the mandatory update. Their lines are pretty busy. But soon it should ease up.

Yes, it does say they are busy. Which is why I thought it might be better to send an email with a jpg of the update page. I do not expect a reply until next week though.

I just hear from a good friend that he had a big problem in France with the new warning system from the danger zones.

The France police told him that it was illegal and the next time he will be charged up to 1500 € .

Is this the case then i delete it immediately because i drive very offten in France...

Just an update. Things have moved on. :smileyhappy:

I received an email on the 18th April asking for details of my TomTom, which I sent.

I subsequently received another email on 20th April that said, " no immediate suitable solution for this challenge." :smileywink: So my problem/challenge has been sent to 2nd line tech dept. Not sure how it will end but looks to me as though there is some head-scratching at the moment.

From the begining of the year, it was made illegal for anyone to have "speed cameras" on any device in France (the police can consficate the device) . Therefor no suplier of speed camera databases can offer French speed cam database. hth

How do the danger zones relate to the position of speed cameras?

Are they downloading satisfactorily onto any types of TT? (I have a 950, and will be driving in France for a few days in a couple of weeks time).

Danger zones are similar to the speed cameras, but instead of showing you the exact location, there is like a zone alert (with start and end point), and the cameras are along that piece of route somewhere.

Not sure about the 950. If you have 9.430 installed on yout unit, that should give you the DZ.
