I too am getting no GPS signal on my TomTom device- which I have had for less than a month. I was driving today in the Atlanta metro area- I have GPS on my cell phone and it was working just fine- so I don't think it's the satellites either or all of the other devices out there wouldn't work either.

Today we have no GPS signal anymore. I try to download an update, to set the TomTom back to fabrics installations and I've tried to reset the TomTom, but nothing works. What is your suggestion? We hope we can fix it.

St.pid question, but is there maybe some strong Sun flare or something? It shouldn't cause trouble really in a coverage like this, but who knows.

@hulovav: Was it or was it not, yet a valid point. 3 different countries, most probably you all have different units on different software. What are the chances that it is due to TomTom (as the company)?

So get this ~ I was talking to the "Help Desk" tech support people - They said they are aware of the satelite problem and are working on it now. I explained that I have 2 older model TomTom units and that they are working just fine. So it would not be a satelite issue but a software issue on the new units. He kept saying it was a satelite issue and not a software issue - Pretty much a crock!

I have rebooted my unit {Holding the off button down for about 20 sec. until it reboots} on my VIA model - Seems to work most of the time - Man I hate being lied to by those nerds!

jc

OK. Just tested mine, GO820, v11.035. Switched on, seen 7 satellites within a minute, but couldn't get satellite lock. Switched off, done a soft reset, switched back on, seen 6 satellites within a minute and could get lock on 4, and 90% signal strength.
