preplanning a trip overseas

I have just bought the Tom Tom app for my i-phone and would like to preplan a trip overseas. It does not have my hotel's name listed so I entered my hotel address instead. However, it does not find it nor accept it and only gives me a list of wrong places to choose from. My only choice is the 'Depart From' back arrow or one of the choices supplied. Could you help me with steps to preplan a trip from one address to another in another country to where I am at present?

Re: preplanning a trip overseas

Does this app include the maps you need for "overseas"? That is essential.

If you are unfamiliar with gps devices, you must have the map of the country, then select the state or region, then the city, to find your destination. Using the address is the most reliable method of finding the destination.

Hope that helps.

Yes, we bought the Europe map that included the countries we are travelling to.After selecting Advanced Planning, then the country, I think I put in the address before the city name ( bit silly of me !)  - now it is working fine.Thank you very much.

Re: preplanning a trip overseas

There are numerous ways of finding places...

Navigate to

Address (specify only City)

Navigate to

POI

POI near Destination

e.g. Hotel

part enter Hotel Name

For Hotels, schools etc. not listed...

Navigate to

Address (specify only City)

Navigate to

Places

Enter organisation name for Google or Facebook search.

This worked like a Charm for an address that I had found very difficult to find... the Dance School (where my ballet teacher wife and I attended a concert) did not include their address on their website.
