Where do I download LIVE Services pack for Carminat TomTom Live from???

Hi, 

 

Two days ago I bought online a one year suscription to LIVE services for  Carminat TomTom Live. Got an email that says (Google translation from Spanish):

 

1. Download, if available, the latest version of software for your Carminat TomTom LIVE Home page (Menu: Get updates automatically)
2. Turn on your device.
3. Go to the main menu.
4. Select "LIVE Services" *
5. Select "My Services"
6. Go to "My TomTom  Account"
7. The system will ask you to identify: Enter the user name and password of your personal account.

 

So what does "your device" mean? Are we talking here about TomTom's website, the TomTom Home software installed and updated on my computer, or the navigation system of the car (Carminat Tom Tom Live on a Renault Mégane)?

 

The TomTome Home software does not show any main menu with LIVE services. The website has a LIVE services tab, but it is only for advertisement purposes (no "My services" after that). And the car's navigation system doesn't have LIVE Services > My Services > My TomTom Account. 

 

Please could you elaborate a bit more? These instructions are not very clear. I don't find points 4, 5 and 6 in my computer nor in the navigation system.

These instructions seem to be made for a portable unit, not for a built-in unit. Am I wrong?

It looks like the email is confusing two things. You need to download TomTom HOME on your PC and install it, then put the SD card in a card reader in or attached to the PC. TT Home should start automatically and then update your SD card. If it doesn't start automatically, just find the program in the start menu and start it that way.

 

Having updated your SD card, put it back in the car and go to 'Live Services' - it should ask you to log in with the email address and password you used when you bought the live services. If it doesn't , click on Live Services and touch the left-hand soft button to go to 'My services' - which should then show you which services you have and when they expire.

 

Do you have the manual? If not, the English version for the latest version of Carminat TT Live is at http://www.renault.co.uk/resources/pdf/CarminatTOMTOM_ENG.pdf - other versions can be found at http://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/multimedia/satellitenavigationsystems.aspx where yoiu can choose which version you have and then download the pdf.

 

If none of this works, ring support....
