VIA 120 touch screen not very sensitive ?

[ Edited ]

Has anyone else found the touchscreen on the VIA 120 is not very sensitive.  I just bought one to replace my ageing Garmin and find the screen is realyl hard work to get it to detect when you touch it.  Can't decide if it is slow or insensitive.

Could it be that the Garmin has a capacitive screen? The VIA has a resistive screen, so it's a different technique. In my experience, the resistive screens work better if you use your nails instead of the bottom of you finger. With your nails, you have to just tap the screen shortly instead of really pushing with your finger.

I noticed on ALL the VIA touch screens there is a frustrating DELAY in response when keying in a command.  My 1st generation TOMTOM XL works better than this VIA 1435 for TWICE the cost. dissapointing!

They are not the gold standard ( the old palm pilots were great)  in resistive touch screens. I have found that using the back of my finger nail works a bit better then a finger tip.
