Tom tom issue - need to get back home

My tom tom is not powering on, i have been charging it for over 2 hrs. when i switch it on there is a startup noise but nothing on the screen. pls help

Have you tried to reset it. Plug in TomTom and use a small pin insert to the reset hole press lightly and you should fell a tiny click.The device should then reset and all will be fine. If not it is probably dead.Please recycle responsibly...

thanks for your reply. it is a tom tom XXL, i cant seem to locate the reset hole as you said.

i googled for the reset button and its says to hold the on button for 15 seconds

Hold the power button down until you hear a drum beat (approx 15-20 sec)

i held it down and heard the drum beat,...but the screen is blank - how long does it start functioning?

See if the screen is dead, press and hold the power button down for about 5 sec after the drum beat. This should call up the diagnostic screen ( black background with white text, looks a little like a bios screen ).

i tried it and the diagnostic screen did not show up....u see the screen faintly light up but nothing loading.

I affraid the screen has died, there is nothing you can do short of replacing the screen or sending it back for repair if it is under warranty.
