I just decided it would be a good time to install my latest map (first on my new subscription).
TomTom Home advised me to backup first, but that gave an error and I moved on (it's been OK up to now). Bad plan.
The install of the map failed at a late step. Looked at it from the command line on my Mac and it's out of space.
I've tried to roll back to the previous map, but that doesn't seem to be available from TomTom Home (I have six older maps, but they don't show up on the list). I appreciated the hint on a previous forum article, but it didn't work in my case.
I'm not pleased that I have resubscribed for $40 for maps that won't work on my device...I'm trying one more time after removing my POI file from the device (maybe that will buy me just enough room).
Suggestions will be much appreciated for my "legacy" device...with 5 more map updates paid for (ugh).
Thanks,
Vickie

I have 909 Mb free out of 979 Mb on the device, and the new map appears as though it should take 886Mb. Seems like an extra 23Mb should be plenty.
I'll try removing my various overlay maps and see if I can recover enough space that way.
Thanks,
Vickie

Looks like cleaning up some overlays did the job! Thanks for getting me to take another look at what ELSE was in the maps directory besides the maps themselves.

A couple other areas that are not really needed are the files in the "helpme" and "raster" folders. This can get you another 5-6 mb if you ever need to make a little more space in the future.
