I recently updated my tomtom XL IQ European Maps edition using TTH and after disconnecting safely, I am now presented with the dreaded red flashing circle with a white cross in it. I connected by device back up to TTH, clicked on update my device, but it stated files were missing. Then I tried to restore my device using backup restore, but gain files missing or could not be found. I have now got a very expensive paperweight. Please can you help?

Are you able to access the TT via Windows Explorer? If so, make a manual backup first: http://www.tomtom.com/13354. Then, remove all files in the root of your TT (only files, not the folders). Next, connect to TT HOME and let it update your device until no updates are offered anymore.
