There are a variety of rds antennas. If you mean the combo rds-tmc antenna/car charger then all units with the latest 9.4 app can use them.

Re: RDS-TMC Receiver valid for GO ONE ONEXL XL

Hi,

if it is the new receiver being implemented in your car charger's power cord and offering the same micro USB plug it should work on the XXLs as well.

Having had a look at TT's product page under the accessories for the XXL IQ I've just found the following receivers:

Traffic Receiver built in power cord of car charger (hyperlink)

RDS-TMC receiver as pigtail antenna (hyperlink)

Both receivers are compatible to all those devices you've listed. So if you've got one of those two receivers they should work.

Regards

Lars.

@dhn : "There are a variety of rds antennas. If you mean the combo rds-tmc antenna/car charger then all units with the latest 9.4 app can use them."

This is not true as RDS TMC support was cancelled with application 9.4.

You can check in the official update history where it says for the 9.400:

The TomTom HD Traffic receiver is also no longer supported. The receiver was only available in the Netherlands. When downloading this software, the TomTom HD Traffic receiver will no longer be compatible with the device. If you want to continue using the HD Traffic receiver, you must not download this software.

So let us know how to untick the forced update instead or when the next update is available that actually does what you state in your posting :smileywink:

[ Edited ]

Hi,

@Austrlaian_User: As already written below your other post the information you provide is wrong. HD Traffic has always been a pay service in every country and is being provided via GSM network. Before the LIVE services were released the HD Traffic service was TT's advanced traffic information where the service has been tested. This service has been extended to the LIVE services which include more than just the traffic service. The LIVE services still come via GSM network for devices including a SIM card.
The RDS-TMC traffic information is a free service in many countries (including Germany and the Netherlands) which is provided via the fm radio signal all over the world. As it is a completely different traffic service it needs another receiver which is definitely still working with Navcore 9.430 and will also work in the future.

Regards
Lars.

Re: RDS-TMC Receiver valid for GO ONE ONEXL XL

I do realise that but it is a bit too obvious that after updating to a 9.4 app the normal TMC receivers stop working as well.

There are quite a few user here with similar problems after updating to 9.4

I found an 8.3 backup and with that my TMC works just fine (traffic info available withing 4 minutes after cold start), if I connect to Home and do the update TMC stops working in terms of never getting any traffic info (gave up after an hour).

And yes I tried all the ways of doing the update as suggested in Emails and the FAQ's.

So unless proven otherwise I still say that something is wrong with the 9.4 updates otherwise our TMC receivers would work as normal with it :smileywink:

Re: RDS-TMC Receiver valid for GO ONE ONEXL XL

Hi,

I can assure you that on my XL LIVE IQR with Navcore 9.430 I get the RDS-TMC signal immediately and don't have any troubles. I even checked that with disabling my LIVE services and it still worked. Also every time I loose the LIVE signal I immediately with less than a minute, maybe even less than half a minute I get the RDS-TMC information.

So it hasn't been disabled by the update to NC 9.4. Still if by NC 9.4 power shall be saved as well it might indeed be that the signal strength is weaker as the receiver has less power. This would first appear in areas where the signal is weak anyway and in areas with a strong signal you won't notice the problem immediately.

Lars.

Re: RDS-TMC Receiver valid for GO ONE ONEXL XL

After all that hassle I finally got a new mctx.dat file from Naomi by Email.

I checked and it differs from the ones provided with the applications.

This new file indeed enabled the TMC back to normal.

So I guess we are both right after all - sorry for that.

The question remains why this file is not available for download.

No update, no backup with a new installation overwrite was helping - 9.4 was completely useless until the support sent me this new file.
