TT Home backup fails on my XL Live. When trying to create a manual backup root files such as " 2 4 . 6" and "q r s t .u v" cannot be copied. I've tried XCOPY and other special tools but even those don't copy them. Do you need these files or can they be omitted? What is their use for TomTom?
Thanks, Peter.

These appear to be corrupt files.
Do the MANUAL backup, excluding those files. Then format your unit, don't use quickformat.
Restore your backup.

Thanks, backup now created without those files, formatted TT ok. TT Home reinstalled everything automatically. Solved. Thanks!
BTW, when creating a backup and formatting, it is advisable to set the energy settings such that the PC will remain active during these processes to ensure a smooth execution.

To close this item properly knowing the root cause of this (the corrupt files) would be great. Any ideas?

I do not know. It happens from time to time. That's why it's always good for those who have Nav 2 devices to have an Explorer (or Finder) backup.
