I recently updated my 340 XL and ever since there has been no computer voices to select for announcing street names. When I connect to a computer, it tells me Susan (a computer voice) is on the device, however, when I select change voices, Susan is not an available choice.

You could try to remove the computer voices and install them again through TomTom HOME.

You can't select or use computer voices while in Home's emulator (Operate my Unit). Computer voices can be selected using the unit itself.

I'm getting this same problem. I'm using an XL340TM. However, my update to 9.061 showed errors during install. I too can see the Susan voice in Home but not on the device. I tried uninstalling it in Home and reinstalling but have no luck.

Same exact problem. Also showed errors on update; took several tries to complete. Computer voices show installed on tomtomhome but not on devide, and when all spoken voices are uninstalled, device says it can't use the installed voice

I had the same problem as well. Eventually got it working after copying a windows backup of the device onto the tomtom XL340TM.

I finally got the problem resolved by uninstalling the Tottom application and reinstalling. The most fruatrating part of this was the absolutely useless Tomtom customer support. I keep getting replies apparently generated by a computer which don't address the problem I asked. BAsically Tomtom leaves you to flounder on your own or get help from teh user forum. Going to take this piece of junk back and exchange for a GArmin just based on lack of customer support

I too did the same thing, uninstalled the TomTom application from within Home under the 'Manage my ONE XL' option. Then I ran an 'Update my ONE XL' and it found the software needed to be reinstalled. It went through a couple more software updates to get to the latest one.
TomTom customer support was somewhat helpful. They wanted me to just uninstall and reinstall the computer voices but I already did that. They also were getting ready to have me file a warranty claim but I decided to try this before I went through that hassle.
This is my 3rd TomTom device in about 4 years that I've purchased. I've been really happy with them but you're right, there is some forum hunting to do sometimes to fix quirks like this.

It looks like I have the similar problem in XXL 540TM. There is not Susan computer voice appears in Change Voices menu after install computer voice, Susan. I heard from TOMTOM tech support, that is known an internal issue. TomTom goes into fix in two to three weeks. Please confirm that is correct. In the meantime, I would like to know if there is workaround available. Thank you.

I am really bummed. I have the XL IQ routes, and the only voice that I have that works now is the Hungarian Grandmother. Computer voices will not work. Not sure what to do? Is One XL the same as XL IQ routes? I had fits on the updates, and finally got it working. Any help would be most appreciated
