Can anybody help please? I have been waiting 24hrs for a response from Tom Tom. I have a new xl and was told i could upgrade the map, that seeems to be over 3 years old (?), for free. I have been to 'home and can see i can purchase an upgrade with a 10% discount. The 'more info' tells me it is 'free', as i expected. However, when i continue the price shown is £40 and it requires my credit card details. how do i download it for 'free' please?

Just to be sure, your device does connect to Home, not MyTomtom?
If it is Home, connect your device and click on 'Tools' in the tool bar, then 'Use Latest Map Guarantee', i hope you will then get the new map.
IMPORTANT: For devices connecting to Home you should make a back-up copy of the files on your device directly to your computer. This is the only way to recover if the device suffers a failure. TT Support page will take you through this process. Making a back-up using Home is unreliable.

Thanks for your response.
I tried the 'tools' option straight away but it told me it has expired! That is when I had some correspondence with TT support re the new map. I had to provide proof of purchase. The purchase option does tell me the map discount is 'free' but when I continue to 'buy' it asks for my card details and shows a price, less 10%...not free.

The count down for the 30 day LMG starts from the first time the device is turned on. does that fit with the facts? TT can see from the map version on your device and the date of your receipt if there has been a problem.

Hi
purchaesd on 15 july used on Monday for first time. I have been sent a trouble shooting script which i have followed EXACTLEY and the map i have for UK & NI is v840.2561. This is the same as the one already on there. IS the the latest version of this map? From the site i thought the lates version was 890 series. Which is it?

Yes 890 maps came out in May. Keep after them.
