May be a problem with the file that stores your favorites " mapsettings.cfg located in the map folder". First try to operate the gps via your computer and delete your favorites that way. This can straighten out the file. Here are the steps for operating the gps via your pc.
1. Plug gps into computer and run Home -> "Operate My Device". It will take about 30 sec for the function to initialize.
2. You will be able to operate you gps via your pc now.
3. Using your pc plan a route on your gps
4. In addition check several configuration setting on the gps like "voice" and "Language" settings.
5. When you are finished click "done" and then click on the little blue button at the lower right hand corner of the
Home window to disconnect the gps from the pc.
6.Unplug the gps when Home tells you it is safe to unplug the gps.

Do you have a backup of the gps made before this problem or have you ever downloaded a map to the gps in the past?
You may need to delete everything on the gps and reload it.
In the mean time, use Windows Explorer ( My Computer on your desktop) to copy the file " mapsetting.cfg " to your computer and then delete it from the gps. This file is located in your map folder, the name of the map folder will be similar to the region the map covers. Example for North America the map folder is named USA_Canada_Mexico_P. The file mapsettings.cfg holds you favorite destinations along with some other settings. After deleting the file disconnect the gps and reset it. Does the gps begin to function correctly now?
