Re: Bought new map now old maps say "you cannot use this map on this device : Australia 452

You should see the maps on Manage my Device -> "Remove Items from Computer".. If an item is installed on the gps and the gps is plugged into the pc,  you will not see the item show up in Manage my Device -> "Install Items from computer".

It is possible that the application update you have is bad and a new download might fix it...... However alot of people simple don't like the new version anyways, an have gone back to the old version if they had a backup they could use like you do.

To get a new copy of the application for the gps you have to remove the copies on the computer first or Home will just keep loading the same copy to the gps and never re-download a new copy.  To remove the copy on the computer use Manage my device.-> "Remove Items from Computer", select Applications and look at all the versions of any application that show up.( there may be more then one version showing.)

The current navcore (application) version is 9.40  or 9.41. The previous version is 9.061 which should be the version that is presently on your gps.

Also you might contact customer service in Australia and see what they think. I have not heard of the problem that you are having from other users.  ( The navcore for Australian models differ sightly from other countries so you could be seeing a problem that other users are not seeing.. )

FYI, manage my device -> "Install items from Computer" only shows items that Home does not see installed on the gps and only the most current version of the item ( it does not display older version of the item).  Home does keep all of the copies of the  items it downloads and you can manually install these items using Windows Explorer if you know where to look from them.

On an XP system, the path to these items is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Users_Name\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download\complete

To manuall install a map that has been downloaded you can use the steps in this link.
