Beginning in app 1.2 released earlier this year, Tomtom now supports standard Android intents. So most applications that send destinations to GoogleNav can now send them to Tomtom.

This tryies to work on my Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean 4.3 but fails. I claims an address error. The address is fine as Google Nav, Waze and Co-pilot all work.
I guess TT has a an "intent" glitch

It works, when the string is in the correct format. Only the following works for me:
Streetname Housnumer, postalcode town
So: Schützenstrasse 12, 44139 Dortmund
(respect the comma! makes lot of difference - dont know why)

I've fooled around with the format but it still fails. Tried my spouses S4 and the same issue. What is interesting is Yelp. If it pops up a restaurant, I can tap directions, select tomTom and it works. Co-pilot, if it doesn't like the address, will pop up alternatives. I am not sure the zip code is relevant as you do not use it on manual entries. Google Maps passes the info directly to its now bonded Nav app without issue. If I cut paste a Google search. It fails
You have provided some ideas. Your format seems non-USA. Maybe TomTom USA is not properly localized for here. I'll keeep plugging. After over ten years TomTom remains the software I love and hate.

TomTom USA is not localized to the US. Say I live at:
123 Anystreet St., Anytown, ST 12345, USA.
If I enter that it will fail. If I enter your scheme:
Anystreet St. 123, 12345 Anytown
It works. But using an "intent" from another app can't do the transion. It's a bug i doubt we will see fixed.

This works. TT is looking for this format in US:
455 E 2nd St, Reno NV
455 E 2nd St, Reno 89502
Google wants to use this:
455 E 2nd St, Reno, NV, United States
It seems the "," between City and State kills it.
Co-pilot and Waze wiill accept Google addressing.
Tried Bing and that dog won't hunt. Directions just pull up a Web browser intents/choices.
