TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad

So, my TomTom Car kit for my 3GS and 4S (modified car kit) finally broke. But I am having the hardest time finding a replacement. It's not on Amazon, Tomtom site, and so many other sites. The Apple stores don't carry it anymore, Best Buy doesn't, Costco doesn't and yet they're listed as dealers. I can find it on some strange sites I've never heard of but I want to purchase it from a reputable dealer OR TomTom itself.

Can TomTom please advise why I can't find a replacement easily?

Please help. From A customer about to bolt to Garmin that doesn't want to.

Quick answer: discontinued. Only found out myself today.

I got a brand new one on ebay last week for £45 have a look.

I see they have one for the iPod Touch. Will that work?

When they announced the discontinuation, did they mention a new and improved dock would be coming soon? I have the original and the swivel breaks easily and it rotates freely. Maybe they're fixing that?

Are there 3rd party docks that work better or at least as well?

There are other units out there. I'd like to know if people are successfully using them with the TomTom app. Some have built in GPS chips, but I don't know if they're compatible with the TomTom app.
