What technology/signal is used for the TomTom app?

I have the app for my iphone and it works great.  My iphone has blue tooth, wifi, data plan, etc.

I am thinking about purchasing an ipad with wifi only.  Will the TomTom app navigate on a wifi only ipad?  Will there be any limitations?

The WiFi only iPad does not have a GPS reciever (only the 3g/4g ones). Hence the TT App will not navigate on it. You would need to obtain a TT/iPhone compatible external (BT) GPS receiver and pair it to the iPad.

Thanks.  I see the IPad with Cellular has assisted GPS.

I love the TT software on my iPhone.  I bring my phone with me every where.   I am simply wondering if the extra $$$ for the wi-fi + cellular  iPad is worth it.

I appreciate your help.
