TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad

Hi,

I bought the TomTom app and car kit for my Iphone 4 however my phone (running IOS5) will not detect that it's docked with the car kit OR pickup the bluetooth. I've had the car kit swapped and I'm still getting the same error.

I've tried holding the volume rocker down to reset the bluetooth but it has no impact. I'm thoroughly annoyed now!

I have the same problem!  Using 4s, 1.9 and iOS5.  The TomTom tool says it's not docked - any ideas please?

i have the 4s and the kit sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt. the way i got it to work was to flip the iphone 4 adapter around so that it presses more outward (or just add a folded peice of paper to the adapter to make it a bit more tighter) the car kit app sometimes works. it says its docked then gets a fix but after a while it loses its fix but still says its docked and the iphone switches to its on board gps. also there are times when it says its not docked but its still charging and the aux still works and im getting sound to my car. when it does work its great but its annoying having to reconnect it all the time. either the iphone 4s has a more sensitive connection or the os5 is interfearing and tomtom needs to update the software for os5

I am experiencing the exact same behavior as reported by kagekitsune. I have even tried all the ideas suggested in another topic, but with no success. Further help will be greatly appreciated.

Same thing here im canada!

I spent the last 2 days on thta with tomtom assistance and apple.

It still not work. 

The Tomtom service person in Canada told me they are dropping the car kit and that is why they don't have the adapter for the ipnone 4s!!!

I hope someone from Tomtom will read this message and react!!!

i really hope tom tom doesn't drop support for this product. it works when it does. from my testings it seems that when it does work it works until you open another app or play music while its working. then it loses its gps signal from the tom tom car adapter and then switches to on-board. then the car kit app shows as just being docked with no signal or not being docked at all. i just hope i didn't buy an overpriced iPhone charger and Hands free unit. i want to use the gps on the tom tom car kit. would like some answers!

I have bad news for anyone with a car kit.  TomTom is simply doing the dishonorable thing and abandonning the customers.

 Last week after I upgraded the iPhone app, my carkit stopped functioning .  I tried email support first, and they suggested I call the center.  The response from the TomTom representative was that it is likely to be the Car Kit malfunctioning and since they no longer sell they kit, they will not provide a replacement or compensation as a credit or in any other form.  I am EXTREMELY disappointed in TomTom.  I bought their products in the past for myself and others.  They used to have a very customer responsive attitude.  I recommended TomTom widely.  Since I switched to TomTom on the iPhone, I have had several incidents that suggest TomTom is now completely motivated by maximizing their money and the customers can literally go to hell (and they will supply the directions IF you pay for another map) after TomTom gets the cash.  I will be looking for another GPS service and am spreading the word about how this company has changed for the worse.

As I have posted about the car kit for Ipod, mine is Ipod 4 and following another forum found out that to fold a business card in half and place it between the top clip of the car kit and the Ipod thus making it a tighter fit in the cradle, it works fine.

Seemably the newer models are a slightly different size and tomtom were not told about it.

Hope this helps someone but would also like an answer on my other thread ref installing the latest tomtom update to my Ipod.
