Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

I have never posted to a board like this but I am so disappointed and frustrated that you added all the social stuff as a requirement to get to basic function like "Navigate to Contact"

Why do I have to share, just to use my own local contact list?

If I turn this on, but do not link to Facebook or Twitter, then what exactly is being shared and with whom? My husband wants to uninstall on his iPhone now because he thinks you are sharing his contacts in some way.

Please do an update and make social sharing with Facebook and Twitter an option TOTALLY INDEPENDENT of any other function. I just can't believe you made this a pre-req for Navigate to Contact.

What other function do I LOSE when I say NO?

And PS - I agree that the two red hands were perfect -- why change it? please go back or allow an option to choose which icon.

Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

Its a good update for the outdated Maps and I'm sure some users will ike the Twitter and FB integration on a whole it doesnt bother me too much since I can limit what I share if I need to but on majority basis Tomtom should:

1. The ability to make the FB & Twitter integration optional in advance settings and if user choose to use it it will intergated as it is now and if the user dont want to use it they can just disable it and the app will work as V1.9

2. Please change the icon back, the Original icon was the best and will always be the best as its your unique identity for all users around the world.

3. Listen to some of the request and recommend feedback from your users as we a re the one who buy and use the app on a daily basis

Thank you for still the best SAT NAV oth there but please lets make it better

Be assured that your contacts are shared with nobody. I assume that sharing is required for the fb functionality and I agree that disabling sharing should still allow navigating to own contacts. But maybe even the fact that the adresses from the iphone are accessible for the TomTom app now require that sharing is enabled. TomTom has recently made a lot of changes with respect to privacy on all their devices and I think it is related to new privacy requirements from Brussel.

Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

Thanks -- I would really appreciate confirmation from the official Tom Tom team that this is true -- that our contacts will not be shared in any way. That is very very important to know for sure.   If they are really not shared then why do I have to have  sharing on to access "navigate to contact" when that was not required before -- seems like the only thing changed in 1.1 is me needing to give permission to share my contacts which I ABSOLUTELY do not want to do.

Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

The map correction I entered about my street back in November has not been on fixed on this update. The addresses on the entire street are incorrect.

Also, the version number should be changed.  It went from 1.9 to 1.1.  The zero after the second 1 is irrevelant.  That would be like going from 1.90 to 1.10.

Still my favorite GPS app...

Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

Anyone having GPS problems with the new release

The old version worked perfectly for me.I had no issues whatsoever but decided that I could suffer an inferior icon to get newer maps

However, trying it out today I had numerous problems - the GPS lagged behind and had me on different roads then I was really on and I spent several times driving through fields. I had no GPS issues on the previous release

Now going to work out how I restore the old release

Re: New TomTom Navigation app for iPhone/iPad - v1.10

v1.10 Australian version

Great App but:

1. Bring back the hands icon. This one looks so cheap.

2. Privacy & Legal Issues - Contacts & Places without share location - why not? - this appears to be Third Line Forcing! You will only allow users now to search their Contacts and get to a predefined location if they share their information??? This is invasion of the infinitesimal privacy that consumers have left and I am positive that if you were challenged in Court in Australia that this would be deemed unlawful on both Privacy and Third Line Forcing grounds.

3. The addition of Trapster functionality would be perfect.

4. A Navigate to Home or Work (or other Favorite) icon at the top next to either the Settings Icon (or as part of this list) would be a positive addition.

4. Walk as a route option finally! Thank you! - hopefully I won't have to follow the roads for 1.5kms now to get to a location 500m away in Melbourne city centre ... can't wait to test it...
