Feature request :Scenic route.

Hello,

I often use tomtom on my phone to get to some place , then just cruise along taking side roads until my arival time is around the time I actually have to be at my destination , at which point I follow tomtom.

I know , maps like michelin maps have sections of road they indicate as being scenic , I have often taken detours along thos roads whilst driving to vacation spots , or when I had time to spare.

Now what i'd love to see in tomtom is the following:

Select destination + arrival time + margin of X minutes.

Then before selecting a route type , having the possibility to include as many scenic bits as my travel time allows.. with the option to jumble them up or select others / alternatives..

Say I need to go from Calais to Brussels , it's 13:00 and I need to be there at 17:00 .. That trip would normally take about 2 hours . That gives me almost 2 hours extra .. During which Tomtom could potentially  take me past 3 or 4 optional scenic spots along that route and still get me in brussels before 17:00 ..

If during that trip , I stop to eat , and end up wasting 30 minutes , it can automatically revise my plannes scenic stops and still get me at my destination on time with 1 or 2 scenic bits less..

For me my gps has been an instrument for leasure driving more than it has been for business . I'm sure it's not like that for everyone , but for people who are the same as me on that front there are a lot of things that can be added to a gps app as an automatic upgrade or as an afforadable module.

Manually adding scenic spots and routes that can be shared with others , and get a quotation from others is something that could be added later on that would make it a self sustaining process.

I am already a fan of the new winding roads option that's been introduced in 1.10 as well .

Tomtom has refined the fundamentals of route planning almost to perfection over the years .If one looks beyond just getting from A to B , there is atill a lot that can be done though ,  I hope Tomtom - especially the iphone version , which I love - will take part in those things in the near future.

Kind regards

sj

Does TomTom have a feature like Google Maps where you can choose both end of the locations? Like from where you're going to start and to the destination where you should arrive?

Advanced Planning allows you to do that.

On the older NAV2 units you could download scenic routes. It is not working on the new NAV3 units and not sure how it is with the old units on the latest software.
