Same problem, but on an iPhone 4.
Upgraded to iOS5 and set up as a new phone. Went to restore the traffic and no dice. Emailed TomTom support but haven't gotten a response. At least they know about it.

Same issue here.. new phone, can't login to restore purchases. I really need the traffic info as events occur regularly on my daily route. Can't believe they still haven't fixed it after 4 months..
One thing I noticed is that a space is added in front of the email address when you go to the next line. This space cannot be removed as it's added every time you change fields. I wonder if this is the only problem..

This is called incompetence.
I called Tom Tom late July to complain about this problem with iOS 5 Beta...
I waited pationatly since I understood they don't support beta (they could have atleast acknoledge they know the problem and will fix it when iOs5 is out...)
Guess what... iOS5 is out and no one can restore the traffic package...

Sort it TomTom.
I've given you £100's over the last few years. At least aknowledge the issue.

I agree. We are paying for a service that we are not receiving. The update to iOS5 was done within the iTunes / App Store eco-system. No clue given that there would be compatibility problems - and nearly a week later, still absolutely no communication from Tom Tom to acknowledge the problem, let alone to fix it. That's a really good way to get bad PR and lose customers.

I've contacted Apple's iTunes support and requested a refund for my last purchase of the traffic add-on, and left a negative review in iTunes.
I suggest everyone do the same.
I plan on switching to Garmin. They can't screw it up any worse, at least.

TomTom is communicating in a yellow box with a red border on the support page (finally..):

"TomTom Shop not available in iOS 5
In TomTom App for iPhone, version 1.8 and lower, you cannot use the TomTom Shop on a device using iOS 5. TomTom Shop will work in the next version of TomTom App for iPhone, which will be available soon.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this temporary limitation causes."

We do have a fix in place for this issue, and the next app (1.9) which will be released soon will resolve this. This is also confirmed on our public FAQ which you can find here:
I do apologise again for the inconvenience in the meantime with being unable to restore your purchases. We will post an update here and on our website when the 1.9 application is available to download. In the meantime, your comments, suggestions and feedback are being listened to, read, and passed on. We do appreciate your feedback and contributions!
