Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

I would like to potential use this for triathlon training.  Can this watch give me a pace and distance when cycling?  I'm assuming that because it is governed by satellite that it can.  I just want to make sure.

Thanks

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

Hi Remy,

Yes, it does give pace and distance while running so I'm sure it would be able to do the same while cycling :smileywink:

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

the website is running orientated so if you were using the coach or challenges facilities it would not be ideal, that said if you avoid these features it will work brilliantly for you.

I got the polar wearlink + heartbeat monitor too and its great with the watch although you need to make sure you buy the version with the Nike symbol to get it to work

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

I just used the watch for a 50 mile ride and it kept good pace and distance. However, post ride i am as yet unable to extract the route to view or record  :-(

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

Hi,

Only the version with the nike symbol works? I have a wearlink 31 coded that works with my polar rs400 but the nike + sportswatch don't recognize.

Thanks

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

I just went for a 22 mile ride, the watch kept pace the whole way, but when I try to upload and view it online, NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO! What the heck? If the watch can not be used for cycling, thats half the reason I bought it. :smileysad:

@Dazzler72 - Were you able to recover your ride data?

Re: Nike+ SportWatch GPS cycling question

Here is a response I got back from Nike about this:

It is great to see that you are interested in tracking your cycling with the Nike+ SportWatch GPS. Your Nike+ SportWatch GPS can be used in activities other than running.

However, there are some limits:

Once the information is uploaded to nikeplus.com, the data from that workout will be represented as a RUN.

If cycling (or other mechanical means) and the speed of the workout is faster than a human can run (example: faster than 3:30 per mile or 2:10 per kilometer), then the workout is disqualified and rejected by the website.

John, if you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me back. Thank you for your time and continued support of Nike+.

Have a great day,

[name removed to protect the guilty]
