I have just bought a Tomtom Urban pro, I did a map update to the latest map, but it is showing Map: Europe_2GB' v845.2702.
I thought v8.90 was the latest, but this appears be require 2.4GB. Does this mean 8.45 is the latest available for my 2GB tomtom.
If so the maps appear way out of date already.

Sorry your right the urban only has a messily 2gb of ram I think you have to down load it to your computer and only load one country at a time, when you need it.
I had forgotten that I have a urban but dont use it and keeping my rider 2 with 4gb SD card :-p

Hi,
you won't be able to install single countries but only some map zones. Please install the TT HOME application on your computer. Then connect your device to your computer and create a backup using Explorer/Finder first. How that's done is explained under the link below.
FAQ - How to create a backup of your device using Explorer/Finder (hyperlink)
Now open the HOME application and go to Extras -> use latest map guarantee to install the latest map. Continue until you'll be asked to select a map zone as the complete map won't fit on your devices memory. After selecting the map zone you'd like to have on your device don't remove the device and check that neither your device nor your computer enters any kind of power saving modus until the installation process has been completed.
After the installation you may change the installed map zone any time and as often as you'd like to via manage my device -> items on my device -> maps -> change map zone.
The other possibility, which is what I'd do, is to download each zone once and creating a manual backup using HOME of every successful installation. Then you can change the zones by simply restoring the relevant backups to your device and won't need to use the HOME application nor any internet connection to switch the zone. Find more information about map zones under the link below.
Regards
Lars.
