ONE / START, 40, 50 Series / EASE (HOME)

Could any one help. I have a One Start device and I seem to have a problem.

When i switch it on it goes to plan route/browse map screen. On pressing plan route it goes to address screen, but when I press address it seems to freeze and then go back to start screen. It will not display the keyboard to let me enter data.

Any suggestions anyone?

Try to run the Clear Flash Tool 3 times:

If no luck:

Try to do a soft reset first. Either a pin hole on the bottom, or press and hold the on button, until you hear the drum roll (if your device has no pin hole).

If the above worked, happy days, if not, try the one below:

1. Save everything from the device, using Explorer (or Finder on Mac), include all the files (hidden as well). It is also known as a manual backup: http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13354/

2. Then format the internal storage (or memory card, depending which one you use) of your device. http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16172/

3. Go to TT HOME, Manage my "DEVICE", delete everything from the hard drive and try the update again.

4. Copy your voices and post codes back to the devices (also the maps if that didn't download either).

Another suggestion is to remove the mapsettings.cfg file (located in the map folder on your TomTom). This will usually solve this problem. It's very easy to try, so maybe it's better to try this before all the steps that Zsolt gave.

Thanks for the advice guys but I think I solved it!

I connected my device to Tom Tom home, and clicked on Manage my device.

After clicking on plan route with my mouse the keyboard appeared on my computer.

I unplugged my device and tried again and lo and behold it worked correctly!
