Corrupted files on SD card

Hello

I have by error put the SD card of my TomTom One first edition in the slot of a TomTom for cars. Since then I cannot use my card in my TomTom One anymore.

I am not home so that I cannot restore the backup. Some files have changed date (clmdata, UserPatch.dat, settings.dat, currentmap.dat, loopdir\loopback.ex3, itn\temporary.iti and statdata\disallowtrip.dat) ; would they be corrupted ? Is there a way to restore them ? Are they available on the internet ?

Your quick help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

You could try to install the application again on your device. To do that, first make a manual backup: http://www.tomtom.com/13354. Then, remove all files from the root of your device (only the files, not the folders). Then, connect to TT HOME and let it update your device until no updates are offered anymore.

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

Thanks for your quick feedback. I followed your suggestion, but it did not chqnge the outcome : it still does not work, stating that my SD card is not a TomTom card. Any other suggestion ?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

Okay. You could format the SD-card. However, make sure to make a backup of the map folder on the SD-card  that before you format the card. After formatting, you can put the card in your TomTom ONE (and boot the device once) and connect to TT HOME to update your empty SD-card. Then, put the map folder from the backup back onto your device. I think this should work.

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

Hello,

Thanks for your help again. I really appreciate it. I applied most of your advise and I am close to it :

- I removed the TomTom application but not the maps because my battery would not hold long enough to backup and restore both maps and the TomTom application. Then I have to go back to my car to charge the battery for a couple of hours... as I do not have a chrger with an electrical plug with me

- After I updated my TomTom application from TomTom home, my TomTom restarted again normally but it says that no map can be found. When I look at the card, I still have my usual 2 maps on it, but it does not find them. After that I cannot go to any menu as it stays blocked on the "no map found" message with no map to choose from.

- What do you think I can do ?

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

What do you mean by "my battery would not hold long enough"? When you connect your device to a computer, it's powered via the USB cable, right? So the battery shouldn't be drained during this period. Have you made a backup of your map folders? If so, you could format the SD-card and update it again via TT HOME. Keep updating via TT HOME until no updates are offered anymore.

Re: Corrupted files on SD card

I have a TomTom One First edition so that indeed the power supply plug is different from the USB connector. But that is fine, I am finding my way around, and am in progress of completing the process.

Thanks a lot for your help !
