Re: Speed Cameras in France

Ditte,

I have asked this question twice so here goes for a third time.

Does the recently announced fix also relate to the Carminat Live as fitted in Renault cars? Simple question - simple answer please.

From what I have read I cannot see the Carminat Live mentioned. It could be that the Carminat is the same as one of the other models mentioned. It could be that someone just forgot to list it. However, I am not a mind reader which is why I refer to this forum - as I have been doing for the past three months.

Regards,

Re: Speed Cameras in France

Not getting a GPS lock is caused by a leap-year bug in the software

Re: Speed Cameras in France

Hello, I live in France and with the new update just lost the radar location function.  My Live service just started.  When I take a trip to a country where GPS radar location is legal, such as Germany or the UK, will my TomTom Go Live 1005 automatically indicate the location of radars in those countries?  Is there something I need to do when I enter those countries?  Have I lost the functionality even in countries other than France?

Thanks,

Darin

@DRG

What do you mean with "lost the radar location function"?

Did you really lose the functionality or are you getting danger-zone alerts instead of radar location alerts?

Re: Speed Cameras in France

@DRG: You didn't lose it, it is illegal now to have the camera locations in France. Now you have danger zones instead. If you go to another country, you don't have to do a single thing. It will show the cameras.

Re: Speed Cameras in France

Mine works fine on Go Live 825 when tested on the Blagon Le Las route on fastest route setting. Also no problem with GPS fix.

Maybe I' lucky

Re: Speed Cameras in France

The question that I have put to Ditte THREE times without any response concerning whether or not the new danger zone fix applied to those of us stupid enough to buy a Renault with the Carminat Live GPS has now been answered by my direct question to the TT French CS. The answer:- They are working on it - as usual, no date!

Maybe Ditte, or one of the other staffers, can explain why they could not have given me a direct answer on this Forum? Simple enough question - an answer was available - why do they simply choose to ignore us???

Re: Speed Cameras in France

Hi peebs,

I'm sorry if you feel overlooked or ignored, this is definitely not our intention!
Currently your Carminat LIVE is not compatible with the new Danger Zones. As soon as the situation changes we will of course update you all.

Thank you,
Ditte

Re: Speed Cameras in France

[ Edited ]

Thank you Ditte. But please remember that I have had to ask that question three time over the past few weeks.

Yes, many of us do feel let down because we pose perfectly legitimate questions that are simply ignored. Often, when we do get an answer it is so nebulous as to not really be considerable as an answer.

Tom Tom does itself a HUGE disservice by upsetting its customer base. The anger and frustration expressed, just on this one thread alone, will not simply go away when an answer is FINALLY given. People have memories and many of those who were fortunate enough not  to be locked in by an 'in dash' TT system, have already voted with their feet and for sure will relate to anyone who cares to listen, just why they abandoned TT.

I realise that you yourself may not have the immediate answers but, if that is the case, then the matter must be escalated up the chain. If it gets to the top and nothing is done about it then it is time to change out the management. TT has already stated that it had lost market share when it announced its recent profit warning/re-organisation. The fiasco on this forum will do nothing to repair its fortunes.
