I got let down on the first day of a two week holiday. The ability to navigate on a touring holiday is exactly why I pay a subscription each year and I'm not happy at the cursory explanation whose main point seems to be to make us aware that this was a 'third party' chip.
Sorry TomTom, but product reputations rest on this sort of thing and, for the record, I've found my GoLive 825 to be nothing but trouble from the start.

even after the update the software is still not working. problem now is when you connect the device to the tomtom home page it says there are no updates needed.
This is no good. Support is required. these products are expensive and TOM TOM Live have a responsibility to ensure customers do not experience such problems.

I have a via1405tm that stopped working yesterday after I had reach my destination 100 miles away. When I turned the unit on for the return trip it would not acquire the satellites, then after many attempts to restore it I put it away until today. I found the mandatory update news, and was happy that after the update it began to work. I do have to question why that I was not notified about the issue because I could have been lost when the unit stopped working during a trip. I bought this gps less than a year ago and am curious to know if this happens very often with TomTom equipment.

LGO, I think it's best to create a new topic in the appropriate section of the forum. This topic is about the new TomTom models only, not for your model. When you create a new topic, we can try to help you there.

I am new here so hello everybody. Now having gone through the labyrinth to try and find out how I access someone who can help me with my Tom Tom problem, I have finally arrived in the discussion group.
I am afraid I have no idea if I am posting in the right topic but nothing seems to correspond to anything to do with GO 750, which after having been used now for a year and 2 months is going through a mid life crisis according to TT( they obviously don't make Tom Tom's to last anymore)
My problem is this and IF anyone can help I will be very grateful:
On arriving back in the Uk from France today ( Sunday the 15 April) My Tom tom has self destructed the maps of the Uk all my recent destinations in the Uk and as well as that, also all of Poland and Russia and I think various other Baltic states ( others tried to do this and failed but TOMTOM has done it)
I would phone the contact line, but since they don't supply any phone number on the WAY overly complicated web site. I can't. And actually without even giving me a number they tell me that the phones are engaged WOW! What fabbie service it leaves me breathless!
Moan, moan... I know but as everyone knows this things cost enuff and some kind of service would be appreciated. So dear members of the forum can you help me find my way and help me get back the maps and also maybe my confidence in TOM TOM.
I have tried rebooting and all of that but to no avail, any ideas appreciated.
