Yup, I hope that too. But just out of the curiosity - maybe it's worth to check the GPS software version on our units (Settings / Me and my device / My device info / GPS ####). Mine says 2.16.201.88313 and seems to not suffer from anything described here so far.
Mine says:
Device AP2211G04684 (0) (9.6)
App 11.035.890538.74 (0) (3010, 21/3/2012), OS 824205
GPS 2.16.201 88313, Boot 642776
And no GPS fix since Saturday morning. Soft reset helped to get a fix once. Subsequent attempts have been uncessful however.

Hi there- my TomTom Go1000 has been unable to find GPS since updating the software on Saturday. I use my device for work and make frequent short journeys. Constantly soft-resetting the device can't be healthy for it can it??
Is there a way to DOWNGRADE my software to the previous version? Or is the problem more to do with what people are calling 'NAV3' devices being unable to communicate with the satellites? If this is the case why did my unit operate perfectly before installing the software update.
Another strange thing is that when I did the software update the unit started to loop on boot up, not loading the software but repeatedly showing the 'TomTom' startup screen. A full reset resolved this, but the unit has been unreliable and unpredictable ever since that software update... have you killed my satnav, TomTom???

@Zbig: There might be something behind the GPS firmware theory, but out of all the posts, there are only two (yours included) saying having no issue. It might not be all NAV3s, but the point is, none of the NAV2 and a huge amount of NAV3. Even brand new ones, purchased during the weekend, out of the box, without being updated.

Oh the agony. Using TT on a trip - stopped for one hour - went to resume and could not get a GPS signal. Something happened between 11:15AM and 12:15 on Sat 3/31/12. I thought my TT was faulty. Just finished paying it off. Tried so many things to regain signal. Luckily read note on MyTomTom. Which wasn't there before. Why did it take so long . Hope they take care of their customers.

@Zbig: It looks like others have 2.16.201.88313 as well and having the issue. It might be a combination of certain things, not one thing in particular.
