Either you return the item for a thorough repair job or you dissect it pretty soon on yr own Operating Table and fish out that nasty Murphy hiding in there....LoL. ![]()

Hi
Not quite "no GPS" just not quite right GPS and I could work out how to start a new post so apologies.
I updated my 720 on 30/06 with new maps and speed camera updates.
It subsequently worked once absolutely perfectly as it always has done. However on all subsequent occasions it does not located my position correctly and consequently gives inaccurate route directions. It is only out by a few hundred meters but as an examply I was driving on the M4 and it showed me driving through a neighbouring field! When at home it shows my location as being about 2 mins down the road and my current position and on the tom tom screen I can see my home location marked.
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be and more importantly what the resolution may be.
Thanks in advance.

Didn't work for me either, still only on grey sat. On the good side it is almost max height.

Finally some help! Not great customer service TomTom! Why pay for something that does not work! I feel really let down by TomTom service!

Hi
I have exactly the same problem. It shows me as about 200 yds away to the right of my true position often in the mifddle of a field.
I am updatin GPSFix now and see what it sorts out. This problem seems to have started after my last update a few days ago and does not show on my wifes TT which has not been updated for a few weeks.

I believe TomTom released a new quickgpsfix update yesterday to rectify the positioning problem. Details of how to remove old quickgpsfix files and install an update are in the following TomTom support document:

Oh Rats!!! dr-bish...
you don't mean that on Rach?? - LoL
He had all about enuf putting up with his current TomTomfoolhardy service... but you sure know how to pull his teeth on this... heheh.
But seriously, concerning service thru the telco, I sure can relate to Rach's outrage too on my own recent attempt.
I'm sick of their voice prompts and they let you wait and wait aaaaand WAIT while I still sit on the potty !!!!
Which I did on 4 separate attempts in two days lasting each time for about 10 to 12 minutes waiting and they still did not come over but my tel charges continue to run!!! Worst still, my handset drained out its own battery on one occasion while waiting that long.
I gave up since not bothering anymore & fortunately, it wasn't an urgent query thank goodness. They had this same voice prompt in Holland as well as in the UK which I thought I'll give a try there.
If they are not available coz they're helping another or perhaps there's only ONE Staff manning the terminal but making us think there are hordes crammed in that basketball support room...![]()
Anyway, they should just cut off our connection and not let us wait endlessly at our costs and I remembered the last time in 2009 when my turn arrived after several long minutes, the kid wants to cut me off in under 3 mins of exchange coz there are others waiting in the queue!!!
But whoahhh, I thought I was the one footing the call...?
Fortunately my GO 950 Live is functioning excellently thus far under the TT Home account.
