@russt25: Did you contact the support at all? This is not a support forum, but a community forum. We users share our views and help each other. Staff is making some announcement here mostly, but they help as much as they can.
For support there are the telephone services. This time it is obviously hammered with all the calls.

Just for an other brand's fans (names removed, and it is just the last few of a tiny part of their forum):

Many off their sat navs products are unable to recieve a gps signal. Their staff are unable to cope. Their updates do not work. TomTom explanation - it's a Leap Year Bug! This company is a joke.
My advice to all is keep away
Respect and thanks to thosecustomers who are trying to help. Tomtom need people like you to run their company!

Many off their sat navs products are unable to recieve a gps signal (true, until the mandatory update is done properly - not necessary user's fault, but unit's).
Their staff are unable to cope (some maybe, just like any other company).
Their updates do not work (fixed mine in less than 10 minutes in total).
TomTom explanation - it's a Leap Year Bug (can't see why it wouldn't be believable, makes sense)!
This company is a joke (this GPS issue was a big c.ck up, other than that, nothing different than any other company).
It is my opinion, as a non-TT employee, who had the very same issue as others.

Hi:
Purchased a brand newTomTom Start20 three days ago to use while vacationing in UK. There is no GPS signal so this gadget is of little value to me as I leave the UK in 4 days. I have owned 4 TomTom devices but this will be the last one I will buy. The fix suggested on TomTom home page does not work. This is a joke. I am moving to Garmin.
