Today I installed the latest available software for my Tom-Tom GO Live 1000.
GPS signal is back after a reset but it takes some time to get it after start-up.
Now, following problems still occur=
- No automatic start-up when powered.
- Immediate shut-down. Usual shut-down screen is vanished.
- No speeding warning anymore.
- LIVE still unavailable but this seems due to Vodafone problem in the Netherlands. No new update available for this.

Hello,
did you got the latest available download (version 11.037) from the web-site. Was online today.
Execute a reset after install (+:- 20 sec). Should get GPS signal back after this.

Your mandatory update took over 90 minutes to complete. When it finally completed my device indicated I needed to leave it connected while it installed the update. 15 minutes later nothing had changed. Same message, nothing happening.....finally clicked on map updates and saw I had to install a new Tom Tom Home windows version( was already on my computer). Ran that software, no big deal, got back to the TomTom webpage logged in and clicked on update. Realized it was another 2.6 GIGs and now am sitting for another 90 minutes for that to download. What is the problem with all the HUGE updates and fixes? I also have a TOMTOM 720 that I enjoy immensely, but this VIA is just about ready to go back to the store. I don't even know if the original mandatory update has completed.

Hello Ditte
I've been having a similar problem with my TomTom for the last couple of weeks (probably since the bug was announced). I've plugged in the devicve to my Mac and whilst it tells me that my device has been updated, it stil carries on downloading. Further more, I can't seem to pick up a GPS signal. I've also gone out side of my property and driven around - even as far as central London.
My serial no: TomTom Go - 4CS01 - TA1430K01278.
Can you let me know what the problem might be or whether I need to speak to anyone as I use this device a lot for my work.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Well that doesn't make sense. I attached my Via to the computer and it started the download automatically just as the directions indicated. WHen I logged onto the website it also showed the download progress and indicated it would take 90 minutes to complete. I searched all over trying to find the size of the update, but coundn't find it anywhere. I assumed the mandatory update must be several gigs since it was taking so long. OK, so I completed whatever was downloaded. But, WHAT was downloaded. It shouldn't have taken that long for a 60meg download........
Also on your webpage it indicated a map upgrade and another button indicating a new map available. Both showed 2.6 Gigs. Are these the same thing? This is what is downloading right now (taking another 90 minutes)
