How to empty the cache (in order to be able to start the update):
And don't forget, if there is no drum roll, you didn't do the reset.
Some devices take their time to lock in at the first time. Make sure you are outdoors, yet it might take long time for the first lock.

So I did as I was told and the process stripped out my maps and now they won't reload. I am told the problem is at my end and that my computer should provide an explanation. My computer is remaining silent on the topic. Now what?

My wife and I both have Tomtom via 1535. I was able to update mine, but whenever either of us logs in to her account, the message says that "... the device is not connect to this account" and I have to wait six months. Wow! I can't have this think a paperweight for 6 months. How do I reconnect to her account? The account info has not changed, is there a way to reset this?
The device needs the "can't find gps satellites" update desperately.
Thanks -Dean

@deanreyburn: Log out on the website and log ib again with your wife's account. One e-mail is registered to one device. Then empty the cache in MyTomTom as above, and try again.

OK this thread is rapidly escalating out of control....
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post your steps that you have undertaken. This will help us help you! Don't just say you've installed updates and reset. BE SPECIFIC!
ie, i have installed update 11.037. I did a drumroll reset. I waited x amount of minutes, etc etc
If you follow the steps in my last post, this should fix it. The important thing I think is to clear the cache.
If after performing these steps it still doesn't work....please and hold the power button for around a minute, or until the screen goes black with white writing on it - this is a hard reset.
Please tell us how you got on!
