Hey everyone, as I type, it's December 1st tomorrow and time to start singing Christmas carols (other faith festivities welcome) and remembering:
1. Father Christmas does not really exist
2. Any map, electronic, paper or spy-in-the-sky is out of date as soon as you look at it
3. With the best commercial will in the world some roads that are dear to us fall into mapmakers black holes and never appear (our favourite Scottish motorway was in this category until recently).
Until I bought the TT825 recently I relied on a 4 year out-of date Advent/Medion satnav - but it always got me "there" across UK, France, Belgium and Germany. You just had to be aware that things change, notably across France where the famous Routes Nationale (N1 etc) had all been changed to Departmentale responsibility with changed numbers even across "county" boundaries (N901, N1001 etc). It made for interesting journeys on some wonderful old roads!
Having got the TT I too was one of the moaners about an out of date map (3 months old!!!) and the missing M74. But it still got me "there" and stuff like doing a Google search on the run is just amazing.
I wish it did do all the things it said on the box and in all the ads but hey - I wish Father Christmas would bring me a Morgan AeroSport.............. Merry Chrisytmas everybody!
