Re: it's our job to update maps??

Re: it's our job to update maps??

I intend on posting and sending to all my friends and asking them to do the same about the Scam that TomTom updated maps are on Facebook. I also will put in a complaint to the BBB. This is highway robbery. We pay for a service that is not provided and later learn that we the customers are expected to do the job and update the maps that we just paid for.

Re: it's our job to update maps??

We should all get together and start a petition to stop Tom Tom from stealing from their customers.  If you pay for a service and do not get it , it is a scam.  Maybe we can report this with all the signatures that we can gather and post it on Facebook and any other sites that will be seen by lots of people and prospective customers.  I will start spreading the word and anyone interested in the petition can contact me .

Re: it's our job to update maps??

Shorty,

I think you fail to realize what is being said here. You keep saying over and over that we don't have to participate, yet it seems that if we don't, nothing will get changed. People pay for a service, they expect it to be good. When I can turn on a 2 year old Garmin that has never been updated, and get a higher quality of map and search options than a brand new tomtom...well, I hope you get the message. I've seen older Garmin units (again, never updated) that have roads available that won't even show up on my tomtom. Have I tried Map Reporter??? Absolutely...and it wouldn't work. I followed the instructions but the options to add roads, streets, etc never were there. I have about 30 new subdivisions I could add, but the site doesn't work. Heck, the site won't even let me change my salutation from Ms. to Mr..

Yes, I know....I don't have to participate. I also don't have to use or recommend tomtom.

Instead of telling us how great tomtom is, and how our participation helps make it better, how about getting on the ball and doing it yourself like the majority of other GPS companies out there.

Merciless, the missing buttons can be solved by using another internet browser. Some mentioned that the buttons appeared after switching to Internet Explorer.
