Suggestion for speed cameras

There are some roads on my daily comute, where the speed limit changed two years ago. The speed limit symbol is updated in the map but not for the speed cameras. When I pass a speed camera I have the possibility to tap a symbol and say if it's there or not.

I would like to suggest that you should have the possibility to change the speed limit too in the same window.

I know that there are a lot of roads that changed the speed limit in my area but since I haven't owned my TT for more than a couple of days, I haven't had the possibility to verify other roads.

You can advise TT about any changes here: http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/ (apart from temporary road closures)

Kudos to you Zsolt since you answer all my questions:smileyhappy:
I had already reported it on mapshare, but I think it would be so much easier and less time consuming if we could do the report as I described.

Re: Suggestion for speed cameras

I have just purchased the updated speed camera for my Tom Tom and have found on trip from Durban to Johannesburg there were several cameras that are not included and there are also several cameras that you are alerted to only when you are right next to them. The updated version in my opinion is the same as my last one. Have there been any updates. Charles Piertermaritzburg South Africa

Re: Suggestion for speed cameras

I have just purchased a VIA in Australia.

I enquired about purchasing speed camera updates for my VIA and have been advised that this is no updates or update compatable speed cameras for my device yet.

I purchased the VIA with the intention of getting regular updates just as I have for my old GO for the last three years.

When can we expect to be able to purchase speed camera updates for the VIA.

What I dont understand is that the device comes with speed camera locations, why cant it be updated just like the old GO?

Re: Suggestion for speed cameras

My thoughts exactly. I have the same questions about speed camera warnings. I look forward to a reply.

Re: Suggestion for speed cameras

Firstly, welcome to pegasus and Lexie2007 :smileyhappy:

I'll have to leave your question on the VIA to one of our more experienced members here.  At this stage and I guess for a while still, my knowledge of our range of nav devices is not high.

I agree with you all and will put a 'General Note' forward.  "Speed camera" data must be aligned with real road speed signage existing and any that may be changed.

I'm not that well informed on how proximity warnings for various 'camera' locations are calculated Charles and will discover - if it's Group software not for general knowledge I can at least record a note about hazard locations on the N3 and a need for review.  Of course if you may have recorded some or all of those missing or out of location then you should use Map Share Reporter to contribute these but I doubt this was or would be possible for you while traveling that heavily policed highway so that's just a comment for those with a defective gene (like me :smileywink:).  I've posted a note in MSR on your behalf.
